Transforming lives through dynamic learning in Tanzania

Our work is grounded in the spirit of “Jifundishe”, the Kiswahili word for “teach yourself”, and we are committed to helping people in Tanzania transform their lives through self-directed learning.

CHALLENGE

In rural Tanzania, a lack of access to quality education and other learning opportunities, is a major barrier to personal growth and community development. Poverty, limited infrastructure, and gender disparities prevent people, particularly women and youths, from achieving their full potential.

SOLUTION

We address these challenges by supporting free, relevant learning resources to rural communities. We provide fiscal sponsorship to a public library, scholarship funds, independent study groups, English language classes, and vocational training to support aspiring entrepreneurs. An educated child is less likely to be trafficked, or to marry young, and is more likely to help pull their family out of poverty.
