Supporting Educational Development in Rural Tanzania
ABOUT US
Teach Yourself TZ is a registered 501c3, and our mission is to support educational development in rural Tanzania. Supporting education in Tanzania is crucial for breaking cycles of poverty, fostering economic growth, improving health, empowering girls, and building resilient communities. With access to educational and vocational building blocks, we know that, statistically, individuals will experience better job prospects, live longer and healthier lives, and reinvest in their own families and communities.
The team behind Teach Yourself TZ has seen the evidence first-hand over many years of experience, and we truly believe that - when given the opportunity - people can and will achieve. The TYTZ team works in a transparent and close partnership with the team at Jifundishe in Tanzania, and other related partners. Jifundishe has been registered and operating in Tanzania since 2008, and they have an impeccable record of program implementation and management. Who We Are
-

Christina Sudler
PRESIDENT
Christina Sudler is a co-founder and Funding Liaison for Jifundishe in Tanzania. She has been working with Jifundishe and their partner organizations in East Africa for twenty years. Christina first went to Tanzania on a NOLS semester in 2005, where she met her now-husband. Since the inception of Jifundishe in 2008, she has worked both on the ground in Tz, hosting student groups and volunteers, and supplementing program management - while also working to secure grants, partnerships, and fundraising efforts internationally. Christina believes strongly that education and opportunity are human rights, rather than resources offered as “aide”, and she is an avid advocate for implementing empowering methodology.
Christina currently lives in Bernardsville, New Jersey, with her husband and two children. When not focused on all-things TZ, she enjoys hiking, fly fishing, travel and - of course - reading. -
